Hear ye! Hear ye!
This edition spotlights The Honorable Ludwig P.Gaines.
Alexandria, VA resident Ludwig Gaines, Esq. has been honored in Washington, D.C. for his impressive, inspiring and numerous community service accomplishments and charitable endeavors. These include past and present service on a host of City, non-profit and community boards, commissions and organizations such as the City's Planning Commission, the Alfred Street Baptist Church Lawyers' Committee, the Alexandria NAACP Executive Committee, and the list goes on.
Gaines is a proud graduate of the Howard University School of Law, 1992 and currently serves as Executive Director for the Northern Virginia Apartment Association.
Ludwig’s infinity for the Island has led to him planting roots here as a home owner to enjoy the summers with his wife, family and friends.
One of the illustrious events on Island is the much anticipated Annual Gaines White Party. This soiree is the can't miss summer charitable event on Martha's Vineyard for those in the know. Nestled in the heart of Oak Bluffs, this ultra-chic and elegant, yet ultra-comfortable evening festivity boasts a Who's Who of African American and Martha's Vineyard notables. The tented and catered fundraiser features the island’s most alluring, socially compassionate and sophisticated crowd enjoying live entertainment, on premises chefs, and both an open bar and cigar bar featuring premium libations and tastes for smoking aficionados.
Gaines is an original spirited supporter of the HBCU Week www.LegacyWeekOnTheVineyard.com and you will most likely catch a sighting of him (and the yellow cup) watching the waves break on The Inkwell, a favorite past-time.
For me, his initials L.G. stands for ‘Life’s Good!’ This captures the essence of being a HBCU Alumnus on Martha’s Vineyard.
